Volunteers

We encourage all parents to take an active part in their child’s education. There are many opportunities to volunteer at McKamy. You could volunteer to assist with class parties, chaperone a field trip, tutor a student, create class items for teachers, laminate, make copies, sew choir costumes , count box tops or fill the PTA purple folders with information. Contact the PTA volunteer coordinator for additional opportunities.

All volunteers are REQUIRED to complete a criminal background check every year. We will not waive this requirement for anyone. Background checks take at least two weeks to complete. If you think you might like to assist the teacher with a party or you would like to go on a field trip with your child, we STRONGLY encourage you complete the background check at the beginning of the school year. Please contact the office staff about directions in completing the form or to check to see if you have a form on file for this school year. If you have completed a form at another CFB school, please provide that information to your child’s teacher and to the office staff. We will be able to contact that school for information.
